A historical marker states that Hwy 66 once passed by the little cemetery, and that the first burial occurred in 1890. The cemetery association that was formed in 1964 claimed that the first burial was that of Nancy Baker, wife of Rev. W. H. Baker which took place in 1899. An interesting grave is that of Roy Tipton who was "murdered in cold blood," along with two other men during a triple homicide that occurred in May of 1916.
